About: Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead (CPF) is an 18th century living history farm that interprets everyday life in Southeastern Pennsylvania during the time period 1760-1790 through historic skills demonstrations, programming, workshops, and events.
Description: The Store Associate serves as front line staff to welcome visitors to
Colonial Farmstead and processes ticketing and store merchandise sales.
Key Responsibilities:
● Greet and direct visitors; process ticket and store merchandise transactions using the POS (Square)
● Ensure clean and welcoming environment
● Monitor gift shop inventory including snacks and drinks
● Maintain store log including information from the day and visitor count
● Manage the set up and closing down the store at the beginning and end of each day
Preferred Skills:
Must be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, with excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills. Weekend availability is a must.
Hours:
During the season, the Visitor Center is open on weekends typically from 11 AM to 4 PM. Visitor Center staff should arrive at least one half hour prior to opening and be prepared to stay at least one half hour after closing if necessary. Extra hours may be necessary for larger events, including evening hours. The Store Associate is expected to work weekend shifts during the open season.
The Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead is a non-profit educational corporation that qualifies under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. CPF operates under lease agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
A criminal background check, FBI fingerprint clearance and child abuse clearance is a requirement for employment.
