Founded in 2008, School Talk, Inc. is a District of Columbia (DC)-based nonprofit whose goal is to tackle complex problems that impact marginalized youth and the schools and systems that support them. School Talk supports the DCeducationcommunity in collaboratively addressing challenges and creating practical solutions for assisting youth of all abilities to achieve success. School Talk’s programs actively work to improve postsecondary outcomes for youth through both proactive initiatives, such as youthleadershipand mentoring, skill-building, and workforce development, and direct intervention to resolve issues in productive ways, such as mediation and restorative justice.

Position Summary
The Restorative Justice Program Assistant is a full-time position supporting School Talk’s Restorative DC Program. The Program Assistant works directly with and reports to the Restorative Justice Senior Project Manager and provides logistical, communications, and operations support for the implementation of restorative programming for DC schools. The Program Assistant supports the Restorative Justice Senior Project Manager in maintaining relationships with program stakeholders, leading programming in assigned schools, and supporting the work of the RDC implementation team.
This is an in-person position with opportunities to work up to 2 days a week remotely, depending on programmatic needs. Some evenings and weekends might be required.
Primary Responsibilities
Support organizing RDC team meetings, including bi-weekly team meetings, internal logistics meetings, and quarterly in-personstrategic planningsessions.
Assist in the planning and logistics of city-wide and school-based programming, both virtual and in-person.
Collaborate with all members of the RDC team for school-based TA delivery, as needed, including but not limited to regular planning meetings/check-ins (reminders, scheduling, etc.), school-based meeting/workshop prep, troubleshooting, school staff PD, and school follow-up.
Support utilization of On-site TA Implementation Tools, including school MOUs, activity logs, School Plans, and Readiness/Progress Assessments
Assist with program marketing and outreach through (1) support of the website, social media, emails, and phone calls (2) attendingcommunity events, and (3) attending/participating in conferences. Supports Communications/Operations Manager for RDC marketing andcommunicationneeds.
Support the development of RJ Tools and Resources, per the annual program plan
Support RDC Monthly reporting
Support data collection, including mid-year surveys, focus groups, principal interviews
Supports internal data collection and evaluation from city-wide programming
Ongoing, self-directedprofessional developmentindiverserestorative justice practices including but not limited to individual research; observation of and coaching from RDC contractors; and workshop/conference attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience ineducation,conflict resolution, and/or restorative justice.
Strong written and verbalcommunication skills.
Familiarity working in MS Office and Google applications
Excellent organizational and administrative skills with specialattention to detailand timeliness.
