Role Description The Resource Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Waynesville, NC, responsible for advancing Haywood Habitat’s fundraising and community support efforts. This role plans and implements resource development strategies, including donor cultivation, grant research and writing, and fundraising campaigns. Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining relationships with donors and partners, coordinating events, managing outreach materials, and tracking fundraising progress. The Resource Development Manager collaborates with staff and volunteers to align resource development goals with housing projects, prepares reports for leadership and the board, and ensures accurate data management in fundraising and contact databases. This role also supports communications efforts to highlight the organization’s impact and engage the local community.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Resource Development experience, including fundraising, donor relations, and grant support.
  • Strong Communication skills, including clear writing, public speaking, and relationship building with diverse stakeholders.
  • Background in IT Recruitment and Staffing Services helpful for sourcing volunteers, specialized talent, and service partners.
  • Project Management skills to plan, execute, and evaluate campaigns, events, and development initiatives.
  • Ability to use office productivity tools and basic databases; familiarity with donor management or CRM systems is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred, especially in housing, community development, or social services.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
