Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support provides emergency shelter, safety, and counseling for victims of domestic violence and their children. All services are confidential and free. Our mission is to end domestic violence by providing safety, shelter, and expert services, and by raising community awareness about its effects.
Residential Aide Responsibilities
Serve as a representative of the organization by preparing and serving meals.
Clean and organize areas used by clients, including common areas like dining rooms, rooms, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
Prepare client rooms for new residents, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
Work scheduled hours from 12PM to 8PM, including holidays and weekends.
Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup for 15-50 clients.
Help create weekly menus and assist with food preparation and distribution.
Monitor inventory, order supplies, and report low-stock items.
Drive to pick up supplies and groceries as needed.
Perform cleaning projects to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Ensure campus cleanliness and organization, including grounds and storage areas.
Skills and Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand/walk for 6-8 hours.
Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
Food Handlers Certification required; organization offers financial assistance to obtain it within two weeks of employment.
Experience with meal prep and cooking in residential settings is a plus.
Awareness of trauma and special needs related to domestic violence and other circumstances.
Environmental experience in residential or small facility settings is a plus.
