Position: Regional Manager- Volunteer Team Development , Southeast (Alpharetta, GA)
Job Description
Samaritan’s Purse seeks a Regional Manager – Volunteer Team Development for the Southeast Market (Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia). The role is based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and involves identifying, training, and leading Area Coordinators who will establish volunteer teams to advance Operation Christmas Child in local churches and communities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as an effective witness.
- Recruit, select, equip, lead, and develop year‑round leader volunteers following the High Impact model of volunteer ministry.
- Lead volunteer teams in a defined geographic area to accomplish goals in church, community, media, prayer, and collection network establishment and retention.
- Ensure volunteer teams are spiritually healthy and well‑equipped with resources to build relationships with local churches, groups, and individual donors.
- Coordinate with regional staff and volunteers to create and implement strategic plans and initiatives to achieve measurable ministry goals.
- Frequent travel (60‑75 days annually) within the region and to the Processing Center during peak season (4‑6 weeks).
- Potential to serve on the Management Team in an Operation Christmas Child shoebox Processing Center for 4‑6 weeks in November and December (may involve temporary relocation).
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four‑year college or university; five to seven years of experience leading volunteers and teams to meet goals and expectations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies from an accredited Christian college or university (required).
- Proven experience managing, coaching, and leading volunteer teams to implement and achieve program goals from a Biblical perspective.
- Experience working with the local church and interacting with pastors, leaders, and members.
- Highly organized, self‑starter who takes initiative to reach goals and deadlines; strategic thinker.
- Collaborative team player who enjoys seeing those on their team succeed.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others with an optimistic outlook and positive attitude.
- Passionate about raising awareness and participation in Operation Christmas Child and establishing more life‑long donors for the program.
