Role Overview
The unpaid Real Estate Development Analyst role within Kenwood’s Career and Leadership Launchpad is an experiential learning opportunity designed to provide hands-on exposure to real estate acquisition, renovation, property management, and community development in a professional nonprofit environment.

Participant Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze potential real estate properties for acquisition, including location, condition, and renovation needs
  • Assist with paperwork, documentation, and administrative tasks related to property acquisition and closing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and external legal, financial, and real estate partners to support acquisition activities
  • Participate in hands-on renovation projects, including repairs, improvements, and ongoing maintenance under supervision
  • Help develop and track renovation budgets, timelines, materials, and project milestones
  • Support property management planning and post-acquisition community engagement efforts
  • Contribute ideas for maximizing property value while strengthening community impact
  • Participate in mentorship sessions, trainings, and skill-building workshops as requested
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, follow safety guidelines, and grow through hands-on experience
  • Engage in assigned projects and learning opportunities to the extent of their comfort level, interest, and capacity, while communicating proactively with Kenwood leadership
  • about preferences, boundaries, and areas for growth
  • Communicate thoughtful feedback, observations, and suggestions regarding internal operations, workflows, and areas of opportunity to support continuous improvement within KenwoodTime Commitment

The program runs August 30 through November 30 and requires approximately 10 hours per week. Participants enjoy a flexible schedule that combines independent project work, collaborative team meetings, mentorship, and leadership and professional development workshops. Throughout the semester, you’ll work alongside ambitious students while gaining hands-on experience on meaningful, real-world projects.

Best of all, there is no cost to participate. Top-performing participants may also be selected to attend a national industry conference, offering the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, expand their professional network, and gain exposure to career opportunities beyond the classroom.

Pay: $0.10 per hour
