Full-Time Radiation Therapist Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our radiation oncology team in a full-time capacity in Chanute KS. The ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering a variety of radiation therapy treatments and comfortable working in a patient-focused clinical environment.

Our department utilizes a Varian 21iX linear accelerator and MOSAIQ EMR. The typical patient volume is approximately 8–12 patients per day, allowing for a balanced workflow while maintaining a strong focus on quality patient care while allowing time for commuting when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy treatments.
  • Perform patient setup and treatment delivery according to physician-prescribed treatment plans.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in:
  • Electron treatments
  • 3D conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT)
  • Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
  • Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
  • Operate and document treatments using MOSAIQ EMR.
  • Operate and maintain familiarity with the Varian 21iX linear accelerator.
  • Perform daily treatment verification and quality/safety checks in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment and communicate appropriately with physicians and other members of the care team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Follow all applicable radiation safety, regulatory, and departmental standards.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) or eligibility for certification.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as required.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrons, 3D, IMRT, and SBRT.
  • Experience with MOSAIQ EMR preferred/required.
  • Experience operating a Varian linear accelerator, specifically the 21iX, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the radiation oncology team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $75 per hour
  • Guaranteed 32 hours per week
  • Monthly healthcare, 401(k) retirement plan and travel expense allowance of $1,200.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation annually, including observed holidays
  • Full-time position with a consistent and manageable patient volume of approximately 8–12 patients per day
