Full-Time Radiation Therapist Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our radiation oncology team in a full-time capacity in Chanute KS. The ideal candidate will be experienced in delivering a variety of radiation therapy treatments and comfortable working in a patient-focused clinical environment.
Our department utilizes a Varian 21iX linear accelerator and MOSAIQ EMR. The typical patient volume is approximately 8–12 patients per day, allowing for a balanced workflow while maintaining a strong focus on quality patient care while allowing time for commuting when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy treatments.
- Perform patient setup and treatment delivery according to physician-prescribed treatment plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency in:
- Electron treatments
- 3D conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT)
- Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
- Operate and document treatments using MOSAIQ EMR.
- Operate and maintain familiarity with the Varian 21iX linear accelerator.
- Perform daily treatment verification and quality/safety checks in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Monitor patients throughout treatment and communicate appropriately with physicians and other members of the care team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Follow all applicable radiation safety, regulatory, and departmental standards.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) or eligibility for certification.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as required.
- Demonstrated experience with electrons, 3D, IMRT, and SBRT.
- Experience with MOSAIQ EMR preferred/required.
- Experience operating a Varian linear accelerator, specifically the 21iX, preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the radiation oncology team.
Compensation & Benefits
- $75 per hour
- Guaranteed 32 hours per week
- Monthly healthcare, 401(k) retirement plan and travel expense allowance of $1,200.
- Three weeks of paid vacation annually, including observed holidays
- Full-time position with a consistent and manageable patient volume of approximately 8–12 patients per day
