Position Summary

The Graduate Program Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Center for Languages for Specific Purposes Education & Research (CLEaR). This position provides administrative, organizational, and programmatic support for the Center's educational, research, and outreach initiatives. Responsibilities may include coordinating projects and events, maintaining records and communications, assisting with data management, supporting grant-related activities, and contributing to research projects as opportunities arise. The Graduate Program Assistant will work collaboratively with CLEaR leadership, faculty, students, and external partners while gaining valuable experience in higher education administration, research, and project management.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Current graduate student in good academic standing at Colorado State University.
  • Spanish-English bilingual
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative in completing assigned tasks.
  • Interest in languages, language education, Languages for Specific Purposes, research, and/or program administration.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience providing administrative or program support in a higher education, nonprofit, or professional setting.
  • Experience coordinating events, meetings, or educational programs.
  • Experience creating professional communications, newsletters, websites, or social media content.
  • Proficiency with graphic design or multimedia tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms).
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS), website content management systems, or database management tools.

Essential Duties

  • Provide administrative support for the daily operations of CLEaR.
  • Assist with the coordination of educational programs, workshops, meetings, and special events.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain program documents, records, and digital files.
  • Support communications by drafting emails, updating websites, and creating promotional and informational materials.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and coordinating logistics with internal and external partners.
  • Help manage databases, spreadsheets, and other program tracking systems.
  • Support grant- and project-related activities, including document preparation, data organization, and reporting.
  • Assist with research activities such as literature reviews, data collection, data entry, transcription, coding, or other research support as assigned.
  • Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and other operational tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to university policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support CLEaR initiatives.
