Role Description The Purchasing Representative is a full-time hybrid role based in Lancaster, PA, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for processing and managing purchase orders, coordinating with internal departments to determine purchasing needs, and ensuring timely and accurate ordering of goods and services. The Purchasing Representative will assist with vendor selection, monitor supplier performance, and support contract negotiation in alignment with organizational policies and budget requirements. Daily tasks include maintaining procurement records, resolving order or invoice discrepancies, and collaborating with finance and operations to ensure efficient purchasing workflows. The role also involves providing responsive, professional customer service to internal stakeholders and external vendors while supporting Goodwill Keystone Area’s mission and sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- Experience with purchasing processes, including Purchasing and Procurement activities.
- Ability to create, review, and manage Purchase Orders accurately and efficiently.
- Skills in Contract Negotiation, including evaluating terms and coordinating with vendors.
- Strong Customer Service skills for working with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with basic office software and purchasing or ERP systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
- Prior experience in supply chain, purchasing, or related fields; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
