Bright Spot Network connects cancer patients and survivors who are parents of small children with support and resources for individual and familial healing, recovery, and reconnection.

Position Summary

Bright Spot Network is looking for an organized, self-motivated and compassionate Operations Manager to manage all aspects of program logistics ranging from creating and executing systems for all of our many distributions (books, art boxes, program materials, etc.) to program communications to database management.  This is a unique position that combines an understanding and appreciation of our diverse programmatic modalities with a high-level of organizational capacity. The Operations Manager will report directly to Bright Spot Network’s Director of Programs but will work closely with all members of the team.

This is a remote and hourly position.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee and manage programmatic logistics, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness

Manage Bright Reads logistics including managing inventory, shipping and serving as the main point of contact for all book vendors and suppliers

Develop, execute and maintain systems to keep programs running smoothly

Ensure program participants receive timely program reminders and evaluation forms 

Coordinate the back end of virtual programs and webinars, ensuring the smooth execution for both staff, speakers/panelists and participants

Improve and maintain systems to effectively and efficiently communicate to all stakeholders

Assist Executive Director with monthly donor management tasks

Other tasks as assigned

Desired Qualifications

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize effectively

Strong ability to both work independently and to collaborate

Highly organized and exceptional communication

Systems thinker and problem solver

Proficient with Microsoft Office, GSuite, Excel, etc.

Database management experience

Excellent listening, writing, and communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport over virtual formats

Flexible schedule with some potential nights and weekends required

Interest in cancer, health, and family systems

Preferred Qualifications

3+ year experience working within operations or logistics

Familiarity with the nonprofit cancer landscape
