Position: Â Project M.O.V.E. Buffalo: VISTA Leader
Project M.O.V.E. Buffalo is a program of the City of Buffalo’s Office of the Mayor that aims to serve individuals from historically disenfranchised communities to promote economic success, support and grow technology and educational initiatives to close the inequality gap and fight poverty. The VISTA member will facilitate interdepartmental coordination, community-engaged learning to address identified community needs, and identify and document best practices in their respective assigned communities while creating online resources to aid in better coordination andresource allocationfor future funds, projects, and workshops.
The VISTA Leaders will be housed at the Citizen Services and will play an important role in the retention and performance of the VISTA members in Project M.O.V.E. as well as support and help coordinate the longevity of the Ameri Corps VISTA supervisors and Program Manager to assist the other VISTA members in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Member Duties:
Enhance VISTA project success by supporting recruitment and selection of high-quality VISTAs.
Develop and conduct orientation and training to equip VISTAs with knowledge and skills related to the project.
Support VISTA through understanding and navigating Ameri Corps Benefits of Service.
Support and help develop a plan with supervisor for the on-site orientation and training.
Enhance VISTA project and member effectiveness by facilitating the VISTA team, supporting team members in their work, and monitoring member monthly reports.
Enhance VISTA project stability andsustainabilityby developing member and project plans with clear goals and objectives.
