Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, established in 1981 in Savannah, is a nonprofit food bank dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. Through various programs, we partner with local agencies to distribute nutritious food to those in need, including children, seniors, and low-income families.
Summary
The Programs Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a strong partnership between Second Harvest and our partner agencies to serve food insecure individuals in their local communities; providing support to agency partners as well as engaging agencies to maintain contractual standards. They are also responsible for the coordination of Second Harvest internal programs such as Mobile Food Pantry Program and Brown Bag Program.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
â–ª Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with agency partners.
â–ª Accurately maintain agency files, compliance documentation, reporting and other paperwork.

â–ª Provide guidance/education on common questions and use of network software.
â–ª Act as liaison between Second Harvest and partner agencies to ensure agency standards are being met and complete all compliance monitoring.
â–ª Network with community stakeholders in assigned service area to share the mission of Second Harvest.
â–ª Develop and implement plans to initiate new agency partnerships in service area where unmet needs have been identified.
â–ª Conduct due diligence on applicant organizations, review application and supporting documentation, perform on-site review, and make final determination viability of applicant.
â–ª Provide adequate onboarding, training, resources to agency partners to ensure successful partnership.
â–ª Collaborate with Second Harvest operations team to deliver programs including Mobile Food Pantries, Brown Bags for the Elderly, and others.
Program Coordination
â–ª Recruit and maintain excellent relationships with community partners, who host mobile food pantries, distribute Brown Bags, etc.
â–ª With the support of leadership, schedule mobile food pantries monthly based on need and available resources.
â–ª Ensure community partners are adequately trained on food safety, personal safety, reporting requirements and all other guidelines set forth by Second Harvest.
â–ª Maintain accurate records of program outcomes and impact as required by Second Harvest.
â–ª Collaborate with Second Harvest operations team to deliver programs including Mobile Food Pantries, Brown Bags for the Elderly, and others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
