Duties
and Responsibilities
This position works with the Director of the Office of Sustainability to advance a campus-wide culture of sustainability and social justice. Responsibilities include serving as a point of contact for sustainability at Loyola’s Water Tower and Health Sciences Campuses, overseeing outreach and engagement, advising students and student organizations, and managing student workers or interns. The role involves approximately 60% direct work and oversight, with the remaining 40% supporting research, faculty and staff efforts, coordinating events, and fostering partnerships.
Key responsibilities include developing relationships with stakeholders, promoting transportation and waste reduction initiatives, engaging with vendors, tracking sustainability metrics, mentoring students, developing programs, mobilizing volunteers, engaging with external partners, managing communications, and performing related duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s preferred
3-5 years of related experience
Certificates in sustainability fields are preferred but not required
Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
Ability to mentor and work with diverse populations
Computer Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, SharePoint, Teams
Experience with graphics design and social media platforms is a plus
Additional Information
Salary range: $60,000 – $69,000 annually
