About Altadena Girls
Altadena Girls is a bold, girl-led nonprofit reimagining what it means to create space for teen girls. We’re building something different—a creative, culturally fluent hub where girls feel seen, supported, and inspired to lead. Our space is powered by storytelling, design, and community—and we’re just getting started.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive Program Manager to lead the day-to-day flow of our programming and events at our flagship space in Altadena. This is an independent contractor role suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven, startup environment and can take ownership of projects while maintaining alignment with our values and culture.
This role involves regular on-site presence during standard business hours to coordinate programming, collaborate with staff and partners, and supervise a small team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, community-oriented operator with a deep understanding of teen-centered work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and execution of Altadena Girls programs and community events
Supervise and support 2+ Program Coordinators in the delivery of programming
Coordinate with internal staff, volunteers, and brand partners to ensure smooth operations
Maintain and grow relationships with current brand collaborators and sponsors
Pilot new, responsive programming based on community feedback and organizational priorities
Track and report program attendance, engagement, and outcomes
Collaborate with the Executive Director and other leads on community engagement, scheduling, and strategy
Oversee logistics, supplies, and volunteer support as needed
Maintain alignment with Altadena Girls’ values, tone, and trauma-informed standards of care
We’re Looking for Someone Who Has:
3–5 years of experience in program management, youth development, or community organizing
Prior experience managing or mentoring a small team
Strong communication and operational skills, with a solutions-focused mindset
A high level of professionalism, accountability, and comfort working independently
Experience working with teens or in girl-centered spaces (preferred)
A deep commitment to the mission of Altadena Girls
This is a contract role requiring regular in-person collaboration at our Altadena location. While we value flexibility, we ask that the contractor is available for on-site coordination during key programming hours (generally between 9am–5pm, Monday through Friday).
Altadena Girls is an equal opportunity organization that celebrates individuality and values lived experience alongside professional skills. Women, nonbinary individuals, and members of historically excluded communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
