We achieve this mission through innovative after-school programs in King County that integrate soccer, poetry, and service learning.

JOB SUMMARY

Seattle SCORES is seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Manager to oversee and support all aspects of our after-school program. The Program Manager works closely with students, coaches, and the Executive Director to ensure the successful delivery of the America SCORES curriculum. This role is essential to providing high-quality programming that helps young people develop physically, academically, and emotionally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Program Delivery

• Oversee planning and smooth execution of weekly programming, game days, the Poetry SLAM, the Jamboree, and other program events.

• Be present at our schools in the Seattle and Highline School Districts for programs on program days, typically 3–4 afternoons each week during the winter and spring school terms, serving as Seattle SCORES’ day-to-day, on-site representative at the field.

  • Troubleshoot logistics, equipment needs, and schedule changes in real time to keep program days running smoothly.
  • Manage seasonal program equipment and supplies, including ordering, inventory, distribution, collection, and ensuring schools and coaches have the resources needed to successfully deliver the program.

2. Program Staffing

  • Recruit, hire, and train part-time program coaches each season.
  • Lead pre-season and mid-season coach training and provide ongoing support throughout the season.
  • Manage coach scheduling, timesheets, PTO requests, and assignments.
  • Resolve challenges with coaches, families, or school partners using a calm, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Be open to giving and receiving constructive feedback and fulfilling additional responsibilities as needed.

3. Program Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school staff, including coaches, principals, and administrators.
  • Serve as a trusted, welcoming point of contact for program families.
  • Manage relationships with program vendors, including transportation providers.

4. Supporting the Broader Mission

• Support the team with various events throughout the year (e.g., SCORES Cup, Seattle Gala, and fall breakfast).

• Help tell the story of Seattle SCORES through media opportunities, photography, storytelling, and social media when appropriate.
