Connected Communities is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Program Director of Community-Based Services to lead the operations, performance, and continued development of our community-based programs.

This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys developing people, improving programs, solving operational challenges, and ensuring that clients and families receive consistent, high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Performance

  • Provides overall leadership and oversight of community-based programs and assigned staff.
  • Monitors caseloads, referrals, utilization, productivity, documentation, and service delivery to ensure program expectations are met.
  • Maintains accountability for the agency-established utilization target, currently 85%, and addresses barriers affecting billing, caseload, or productivity expectations.
  • Ensures incoming referrals are staffed appropriately and timely and oversees case assignment and coverage needs.
  • Communicates regularly with the CEO regarding program performance, caseloads, staffing needs, employee performance, risks, and priorities.

Staff Supervision, Development & Performance

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates measurable, evidence-based practices for the supervision, training, and development of community-based staff.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, feedback, training, and remediation to supervisors, lead mentors, support specialists, interns, practicum students, and other assigned staff.
  • Leads the quarterly evaluation process for community-based staff, including assigned supervisory staff.
  • Oversees onboarding and program-specific training for new community-based staff, interns, and practicum students.
  • Partners with Human Resources in hiring, performance management, corrective action, and termination decisions.

Clinical & Quality Oversight

  • Partners with the Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Director to ensure services meet agency, clinical, legal, ethical, documentation, and quality assurance standards.
  • Provides oversight of charting, recordkeeping, documentation practices, and the frequency and focus of staff supervision.
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership to identify group supervision topics, staff training priorities, and development needs.
  • Provides regular feedback to clinical and administrative leadership regarding staff performance, caseloads, quality, timeliness, and service-delivery concerns.

Staffing, Coverage & High-Needs Cases

  • Coordinates with clinical and administrative leadership regarding call-outs, staffing gaps, case coverage, and reassignment of cases.
  • Provides direct emergency case coverage when appropriate coverage cannot otherwise be secured.
  • Participates in Family Partnership Meetings, court appointments, Residential Deviation matters, and other high-needs cases when senior program involvement is needed or other appropriate staff are unavailable.

Operations & Organizational Support

  • Oversees the safety, sanitation, organization, and professional condition of locations where Community-Based Services are delivered.
  • Represents Connected Communities at training, marketing, community, leadership, and board-related events as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience supervising staff.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, community-based, human services, education, healthcare, or other mission-driven service organization.
  • Understanding of evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate operational issues early, clearly, and appropriately to executive leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule based on program needs.

Preferred

  • Experience leading community-based, behavioral health, or human services programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, counseling, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
