Xiente is a mission-driven nonprofit organization serving children, youth, and families across Philadelphia through early childhood education, after-school programming, youth development, housing, workforce development, and community-based support services.
Xiente is seeking an experienced Program Director to provide leadership across its education-focused programs. This individual will oversee program quality, compliance, staffing, curriculum oversight, grant requirements, and operational execution across multiple sites.
The Program Director will work closely with executive leadership, site leaders, staff, families, and community partners to ensure programs are high-quality, compliant, culturally responsive, and aligned with the needs of the communities served.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee education-focused programs across multiple Philadelphia sites
- Support Head Start, Early Head Start, preschool, infant/toddler, and after-school programming
- Ensure compliance with licensing, grant requirements, audits, reporting, and nonprofit documentation standards
- Oversee curriculum quality, staffing structure, onboarding, and program operations
- Monitor program data, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions
- Support the design and implementation of new grant-funded education programs
- Partner with internal leaders, community stakeholders, funders, and families
- Provide leadership, coaching, and operational support to program staff and site leaders
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of nonprofit program leadership experience
- Direct experience with Head Start or Early Head Start programs
- Recent Head Start or Early Head Start experience strongly preferred
- Strong background in early childhood education, including infants, toddlers, preschool, and/or school-age programming
- Experience with grant compliance, licensing, audits, reporting, and program documentation
- Experience managing multiple programs, sites, or teams
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to work fully onsite in Philadelphia, Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Director Credential
- Experience with Philly Pre-K, Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS, NAEYC, ERS, or similar quality standards
- Experience overseeing programs serving 200+ children
- Experience designing, launching, or improving grant-funded programs
- Strong familiarity with Philadelphia communities and nonprofit service environments
