Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible to Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.
POSITION FOCUS:
The Program Director is responsible to Red Zone Memphis’ Executive Staff and the RZ Board of Directors to implement the planning, coordination, and execution of Red Zone’s program. The person in this position is expected to promote and develop outreach efforts among urban young people, particularly in Orange Mound. The Program Director is also responsible for equipping, enabling, and empowering staff that work for Red Zone Ministries.
SPECIFIC TASKS:
DIRECT MINISTRY:
Manage and facilitate a regular club.
Facilitate a weekly Bible study or discipleship group.
Engage in intentional holistic efforts in a specified community.
Network with churches, para-church organizations, and other entities.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT:
Network with potential partners.
Recruit and nurture donors and potential donors.
Intentional marketing of RZ ministry:
Masscommunication(e.g., mailings).
Seminars/public speaking.
Attend mission fairs/conferences as appropriate.
Supervise ministry staff:
Accountability to mission strategy and vision.
Manage staff efficiency (e.g., reporting, monitoring, outcomes).
Individualize goal setting and attainment.
Hire and fire staff.
RELATIONSHIP WITH BOARD:
Program Director is to be present at all Red Zone board meetings and work with various committees at the chair’s discretion.
REPRESENTING REDZONE IN THE COMMUNITY:
Involved in speaking to various groups, e.g., churches and community organizations, regarding the ministry.
Under the direction of the Executive staff, cultivate relationships and develop new contacts with individuals, groups, or churches in the community.
Have development responsibilities in terms of fundraising under the direction of the CEO and Board.
