Program Coordinator, Future Leaders

Professional, full‑time (Union) position located in Surrey, BC, with a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager and Employment Specialists in delivering program activities.
  • Conduct initial participant intakes to assess needs and eligibility.
  • Proactively conduct outreach in the community to attract new youth participants and promote the program.
  • Record detailed notes during meetings for accurate record‑keeping.
  • Provide participants with information on life and employability services and make referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community service providers to enhance program referrals.
  • Plan, organize, and attend events such as forums and job fairs.
  • Maintain an inventory of community resources and services available to participants.
  • Collaborate with program staff and stakeholders to identify emerging needs and develop responsive strategies.
  • Schedule, monitor, and oversee volunteers/practicum students and support their training plans.
  • Facilitate effective coordination and communication within the team.
  • Assist the Manager in compiling and tracking program data for internal and funder reports, maintaining accurate records in the CRM and program trackers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in a related human or social services field (preference for Career Development Practitioner).
  • Minimum two years of experience in project coordination, administration, volunteer management, and working with youth, immigrants, or vulnerable populations.
  • Experience with job development and job‑search techniques; sector‑specific knowledge is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of workforce integration, immigrant and settlement issues, and challenges faced by youth and immigrant job seekers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to build and maintain partnerships.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Windows, Word, Excel, internet research, Canva, Doodle Poll, and social media.
  • Criminal Record Check is a requirement of employment.
