Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
CNNC advances the capacity of immigrants and refugees by building bridges between immigrant populations and existing communities throughout NC via community-based outreach and advocacy, educational programming, research and evaluation, immigrant and refugee leadership development, cultural brokering, and educational opportunities for faculty and students.
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator/Community Centers position will oversee service coordination and evaluation of CNNC Oakwood and Glen Haven Community Centers initiative. Assist in management of Ameri Corps project. Provide supervision of selected Ameri Corps members at CNNC Oakwood and Glen Haven Community Centers. Work with program directors and staff to develop integrated services program. Seek and apply for external funding to assist with community center support.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a social science field or a Bachelor’s degree in social science field with two years experience working with at risk and immigrant communities.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written Spanish and English and have an extensive knowledge and experience working with NC Immigrant communities.
- Must have training in Cross Cultural Human Services or comparable training and have a knowledge of the North Carolina human service systems.
- Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to be trained in driving a 15-passenger van.

Key Responsibility
Community Center Coordination and Management
- Oversight and coordination of Community Center Program for CNNC through development and implementation of programming. There are currently 3 existing community centers in immigrant neighborhoods in Guilford County.
- This position will develop a program and coordinate services to meet changing community needs and evidence based practices as well as develop programs for additional sites as funding is obtained.
- Develop new projects and identify needs to address community needs and strengthen services to assure equitable integration of newcomers in the immediate area and state.
- Oversee current grants and contracts supporting the community center program and develop ideas for new funding sources.
- Write and submit grants.
