Join a cohesive and collaborative team transforming the trajectory of Baltimore City youth. The Program Associate College Success is a motivated, full-time professional dedicated to our students’ college persistence, completion and transition to young professionals. Promoting career development, the PA-CS works with our high school and college students, young professionals, partners and volunteers, to place and support summer interns and co-facilitates Summer and College Workshops. This position reports to and works closely with the Chief Program Officer.
Building STEPS (Science Technology And Education Partnerships Inc.) is a nonprofit that equips our city’s brightest students with the tools to propel them to college and career success. Through multi-year, comprehensive programming, nearly 80% of Building STEPS graduates earn a college degree, almost all the first in their family to do so.
:
· Ease the transition from high school to college and familiarize first-year college students with academic and campus resources.
· Provide proactive direct support to ensure college persistence and completion, including troubleshooting, informal counseling, campus visits and regular, multi-platform communications.
· Connect college students with campus resources and create campus-based peer groups.
· Maintain and update accurate records of college student progress, academic completion, and professional development milestones.
· Collaborate with campus career centers to integrate Backpack2Briefcase strategies into students’ college plan.
· Recruit College Chaperones and Campus Ambassadors to support programming and student persistence.
· Inform families about college access, persistence and completion resources and strategies through communications and programs.
· Coordinate and manage YouthWorks logistics, including matching students with summer internships and serving as the point of contact throughout the placement process and internship.
· Facilitate Summer Workshops, including guest engagement.
· Advance the goals and objectives of Alumni Council.

· Bachelor’s degree.
· 1 – 3 years programming experience.
· Strategic thinker and inquisitive problem solver.
· Effective communicator across various platforms.
· Attentive to details, including organizing and maintaining data.
· Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and drives student success through multiple strategies, approaches and deadlines.
· Experience working with undergraduate college students preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
· Transportation to travel to area college campuses (gas and mileage reimbursed).
Benefits include a health care allowance, retirement plan, paid time off including personal, winter break, and volunteer engagement. Work is hybrid with three days in office, two days remote. Building STEPS office is located in Towson, MD.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 – $56,000.00 per year
