Job Summary

The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with the facilitation of youth programs, assisting with registration, pre/post program preparations and helping to build connections with youth participants.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or 2-3 years related experience in a community setting

Related experience in a community setting and community programs.

Experience working with children and youth in a community setting is a strong asset

Experience working with diverse communities, and knowledge of related community resources

Fluency in English essential, fluency in other languages also desirable

Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications

Valid First Aid and CPR (level

C) required to obtain within 6 months of employment

Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check required

Job Specific Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing community-based youth programs as assigned

Provide information about community resources to community members

Perform administrative duties related to the programs as delegated

Participate as an active team member in staff meetings

Support Community Workers, Student Parent Support Workers, Program Facilitators and volunteers

Assist with the operation of evening and afterschool programming as appropriate

Other related duties as assigned
