Position Description:
The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is seeking a full time Program and Marriage Preparation Coordinator for the Office for Evangelization, in Richmond, Virginia.
The Office for Evangelization seeks to evangelize individuals and families across the diocese and the Coordinator assists in that goal by assisting in the coordination of events sponsored by the office. Additionally, they oversee the implementation of the Unveiled Marriage Prep Program by managing the logistics of each session. They will also help in the creation and oversight of the Spanish Unveiled program, and as such candidates must be proficient in Spanish, both spoken and written.
The Coordinator would be an important part of the team dedicated to supporting the Diocese of Richmond in the work of evangelization.
Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills:
Practicing Catholic in good standing.
Interpersonal skills in communication, collaboration, and group process.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Fluent in Spanish and English
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in an office setting and at events.
Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated, take charge professional, works easily alone or with others
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Diocesan systems (CID and Resource Scheduler)
Online evaluation tools (i.e. Survey Monkey)
Education Required:
Bachelor Degree in marketing, business administration or related field.
Certification in Event Planning, Coordination, or Management or willing to work toward it.
Experience:
At least 3 years of project coordination or event planning experience is required
Paid or voluntary parish or Catholic school experience recommended.
Ministry experience with both English and Spanish speaking communities is recommended.
Working Conditions:
The position is full-time (minimum of 35 hours per week). Regular night and weekend hours is required throughout the year, especially for diocesan programs. The position is based out of the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Richmond and requires travel (when appropriate) to parishes or other event venues in the diocese.
Physical Demands:
Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Lift and/or move supplies and materials of up to 30 lbs.
