POSITION SUMMARY

The President/CEO serves as the chief executive leader and public face of the organization, advancing the mission through strategic leadership, community trust-building, fundraising, program impact, and strong partnership with the Board of Directors. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day operations while positioning the organization as a trusted convener across diverse communities.

· Provide mission-driven executive leadership and strategic direction.

· Build and sustain community relationships, visibility, and trust.

· Lead fundraising, donor cultivation, sponsor re-engagement, and long-term sustainability efforts.

· Ensure programs are impactful, relevant, inclusive, and aligned with organizational goals.

· Strengthen board relationships, organizational capacity, staff leadership, and volunteer engagement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead the organization in carrying out its mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.

· Oversee daily operations, programs, administration, finances, communications, fundraising, and community engagement.

· Partner closely with the Board of Directors to support effective governance, planning, reporting, and decision-making.

· Represent the organization publicly with donors, community partners, sponsors, participants, public officials, media, and other stakeholders.

· Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND VISIBILITY

  • Serve as a visible ambassador and primary public spokesperson for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across diverse communities, partners, participants, civic leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Strengthen the organization’s public profile through marketing, storytelling, communications, events, and social media.
  • Position the organization as a trusted convener and collaborative community partner.

FUNDRAISING, DONOR RELATIONS, AND SUSTAINABILITY

· Lead fundraising strategy in partnership with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders.· Cultivate, steward, and retain donors, sponsors, grantors, and funding partners.

· Re-engage past sponsors and donors while identifying new revenue opportunities.· Communicate the organization’s impact clearly and consistently to inspire continued investment.

· Support long-term financial sustainability through diversified funding, responsible budgeting, and strategic planning.

PROGRAM IMPACT AND QUALITY

· Oversee the development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of programs.

· Ensure programs remain relevant, mission-aligned, accessible, and responsive to community needs.

· Use participant feedback, engagement data, and outcome measures to strengthen program quality and impact.

· Build relationships with past participants and create pathways for continued engagement.

· Identify opportunities to expand reach, deepen impact, and increase future participation.

LEADERSHIP, BOARD RELATIONS, AND ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY

· Provide effective leadership to staff, contractors, volunteers, and partners.

· Maintain open, timely, and constructive communication with the Board of Directors.

· Support board engagement, committee work, fundraising participation, and strategic oversight.

· Develop organizational systems, staffing capacity, volunteer engagement, and internal processes that support sustainable growth.

· Model ethical leadership, sound judgment, professionalism, and commitment to the organization’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit, mission-driven, civic, community-based, educational, or related organization.

· Proven ability to build relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners, board members, volunteers, and diverse stakeholders.

· Experience with fundraising, donor cultivation, sponsorship development, grant support, or revenue generation.

· Strong communication, public speaking, writing, relationship-building, and storytelling skills.

· Ability to manage budgets, operations, priorities, people, and projects with integrity and accountability.

· Commitment to inclusive leadership, community engagement, service, and measurable impact.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
