ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists with implementing curriculum within the established NAEYC and DRDP guidelines.
Assists with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans.
Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
Follows proper Parent Notification Form (PNF) procedure; ensuring each parent is physically handed the PNF and verbally explain PNF.
Maintains program site and equipment. Informs child care director of anything that needs to be replaced.
Ensures classroom environment is withholding NAEYC standards. Will let director know immediately if something is not meeting a standard.
Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
Communicates effectively with all preschool staff and child care director on daily basis.
Complete assigned daily duty on staff duties list.
Complies with up to date CDC guidelines as it applies to preschool.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law. Minimum of 6 ECS units. Required to obtain 12 ECS units within one year of hire date.
At least 18 years of age and 21 years of age if operating a vehicle.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse prevention training.
Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
Ability to perform essential movements such as, but not limited to, the following: reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, carrying, lifting 40 pounds, twisting of the waist, shoulders and legs.
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities. Ability to squat and get down to child eye level.
Ability to stand for longer periods of time throughout shift.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
