Full Job Description
The Anselmo Academy of Music and the Arts is seeking a recorder instructor for a Pre-K group class. This is an in-person teaching opportunity with an estimated weekly commitment of approximately 1.5 hours. While the exact day and time are to be confirmed, this position begins soon and includes the possibility of taking on additional teaching assignments within our growing music education programs (in private and group classes).
Position Details:
Teach introductory recorder to young students (Pre-K level) in a group setting.
Class will meet weekly for approximately 1.5 hours.
Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons—curriculum support is available, but instructors have flexibility in designing their approach.
Create a fun, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures musical exploration and fundamental skills.
Opportunities for additional work teaching other group or private classes are available.
Requirements:
Must be based in or near New York, NY, with the ability to travel to Manhattan/
Experience teaching music to young children, ideally ages 3–5.
Familiarity with early childhood pedagogy and classroom management.
Upbeat, warm, and patient personality with strong communication skills.
Background check and fingerprinting may be required.
