Position Description
The Pre-Billing Representative will be responsible for ensuring all completed transports are ready to be billed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
Minimum 3 years of Call Center and/or Insurance Verification Experience Required
High School Diploma Required
Knowledge of Medical Terminology Required
Certification/Licensure:
N/A
Knowledge & Skills:
Organized and have keen attention to detail
Knowledge of grammar and proofreading
Excellent communication skills
Proficient knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
Position Responsibilities
Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations when needed.
Notify the Intake Specialist of any co-pays or non-covered services so they can contact the hospital/patient.
Ensure all paperwork required for billing has been received and is attached to the EMS chart (face sheet, PCS form, ABN form when applicable).
Ensure an EMS chart/patient care report has been completed for all trips listed in CAD system.
QA all EMS charts for crew signatures, patient signatures, medical necessity, and accurate description of events, including correct addresses and flag charts for corrections when needed.
Advance all completed EMS charts to billing.
Attach all patient care reports to corresponding trip in CAD system or upload to the billing company/department.
Relay insurance/billing information, insurance benefit details, and authorizations to the billing company/department.
Assist billing company/department with additional documentation requests.
