Title: Pre-Award Grants Analyst

Summary
Coordinates the pre-awards planning, organization, preparation, assembly and submission of research grant and sponsored projects applications to private and public funding agencies and industry. Coordinates the post-award administration of research grants and sponsored projects including clinical trials.
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance and support to investigators in the identification and development of grant opportunities.
- Coordinates with Principal Investigators (PI) and staff on grant development activities; establishes and maintains contact with the funding agency representative and conducts funding opportunity research.
- Interacts with investigators and administrative staff to ensure that grants are in compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements.
- Interacts effectively with Institute leadership and staff, principal investigators, study teams, hospital staff and external organizations.
- Collaborates with the, financial coordinator, billing coordinator and accounting to ensure conformity and compliance with all aspects of study financial management.
- Other duties as required.
Other Information
Technical Expertise
- Ability to understand complex medical principles, practices and techniques and appropriate use of medical terminology a must.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Experience with grant/financial/study management reporting packages required.
Education And Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business required. Master's degree preferred.
- Years of experience: Minimum of two (2) years grants and sponsored research experience in health or academic setting required.
- Years of experience supervising: None
- Experience with research grant management, budgeting and accounting required.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member and independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), problem solving and accounting skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously coordinate and report administrative and financial aspects of research grants and contracts in varying levels of development, execution and completion.
