WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Machine Maintenance Maintains cleanliness of patient room and equipment, and prepares and calibrates equipment needed for testing.
Patient Education Educates patients and their families regarding the testing and analysis procedures to be performed on the patient.
Polysomnographic Testing and Analysis Conducts comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis of sleep studies used to diagnose sleep disorders.
Sleep Analysis Analyses sleep testing data during and after testing to determine intervention needs and produce progress reports.
Patient Discharge Concludes testing procedures with patients including providing discharge instructions.
Patient Review Reviews patient clinical history, sleep history, and physicians’ orders.
Community Outreach Attends community outreach programs or events, as required.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma/GED
Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) – American Heart Association
Required Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Sleep Disorder Specialist (SDS)
Preferred 1 year Respiratory Care or related field (such as EEG) Preferred
