Our Multimedia Career Exploration Program offers students real-world experiences and mentorship in creative fields, including podcasting, video production, photography, and more.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and tech-savvy Podcast Coordinator to lead our podcasting workshops at Pottstown High School and Middle School. This role is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, media production, and youth development. The Podcast Coordinator will work directly with middle and high school students—both in small groups and 1:1 settings—to teach the art and process of podcasting from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate podcast workshops 2 days per week after school as part of The STRIVE Initiative’s Multimedia Career Exploration Program.
Lead 1 full school-day session weekly at Pottstown High School focused on podcast scheduling, editing, hosting support, and student collaboration.
Teach students how to research, plan, set up, and record their own podcasts.
Provide hands-on training in podcast production: audio editing, mixing, publishing, and promotion.
Oversee small group sessions and 1:1 coaching to support student development and creativity.
Foster a fun, inclusive, and professional environment that encourages student voice and leadership.
Collaborate with STRIVE staff and school personnel to maintain program quality and alignment with educational goals.
Ensure proper care and use of podcasting equipment and technology.
Qualifications:
Experience with podcast production, audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition), and hosting platforms.
Strong facilitation skills and the ability to engage and mentor youth ages 11–18.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and student teams with creativity and patience.
Experience working in school or youth development settings is highly preferred.
Passion for media, education, and equity in creative opportunity.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 13 – 15 per week
