Q-MoB is a vibrant non-profit organization empowering queer men across Western Massachusetts and surrounding rural counties through 25+ monthly social, recreational, and arts/cultural events.

Alongside Q-MoB, we operate the Western Mass Rainbow Pages, the region’s premier directory connecting the community with LGBTQ-owned and welcoming businesses, medical professionals, and organizations.

Position Overview

We are looking for an energetic Social Media Team Leader & Content Creator to drive our visual storytelling across the Pioneer Valley and Western Mass. In this dual-purpose role, you will create dynamic short-form videos and photos while recruiting and coordinating a team of volunteer content creators to capture events throughout the region.

Your social media strategy will directly drive two key organizational goals:

  • Grow Q-MoB: Inspire queer men in Western Mass and adjacent rural counties to attend our events and join the Q-MoB community.
  • Grow the Rainbow Pages: Highlight the value of the Western Mass Rainbow Pages so local businesses, service providers, and organizations want to purchase paid directory listings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Recruitment & Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, onboard, and lead a network of volunteer event photographers and videographers across the Pioneer Valley and surrounding rural counties.
  • Create simple guidelines and coverage schedules so volunteers know how to capture high-quality content at Q-MoB and Rainbow Pages events.

2. Content Creation & Short-Form Video

  • Shoot and edit engaging photos and short-form videos (Instagram Reels, TikToks, Facebook Stories) showcasing the energy, diversity, and warmth of our community events.
  • Produce spotlight posts and video features highlighting local LGBTQ-owned and welcoming businesses listed in the Rainbow Pages.

3. Strategy, Posting & Engagement

  • Manage content calendars and publish posts optimized for maximum local reach and audience growth.
  • Write engaging captions and use targeted geotags/hashtags to reach queer men and small business owners across Western Mass.
  • Interact with followers, respond to comments/DMs, and foster an active online community.

Qualifications

  • Social Media Experience: Proven track record creating engaging short-form video (Reels/TikTok) and photo content.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to recruit, motivate, and organize volunteers.
  • Community Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Pioneer Valley, Western Mass, and surrounding rural communities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with smartphone video/photo capture and mobile editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Canva, Lightroom, or native app editors).
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance fun, community-building content with promotional posts that convert business leads.

Compensation & Hours

  • Hours: Approx 15 hours/month.

Duties

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies tailored to regional audiences, aligning with overall marketing goals.
  • Lead the creation of engaging content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok, including graphics, videos, photography, and written posts.
  • Manage daily social media operations using tools like Hootsuite and Buffer to schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to community interactions promptly.
  • Utilize social listening tools and social media analytics to track campaign performance, identify trends, and refine content strategies for maximum impact.
  • Implement SEO best practices and conduct keyword research to optimize content discoverability across digital channels.
  • Coordinate with public relations teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communications.
  • Monitor digital marketing performance using Google Analytics and other media performance analytics tools; prepare reports to inform future campaigns.
  • Oversee paid advertising efforts on Facebook and other platforms to enhance reach and engagement through targeted campaigns.
  • Maintain relationships with influencers, community partners, and stakeholders to expand outreach efforts.
  • Ensure all content aligns with branding guidelines while maintaining high standards of proofreading, graphic design quality using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and media editing tools.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing performance monitoring.
  • Strong proficiency with social media platforms’ management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer.
  • Skilled in graphic design and media editing using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Knowledge of SEO techniques, Google Analytics, web analytics, and marketing online analytics for data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with video editing software for creating engaging multimedia content.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for proofreading and content writing.
  • Ability to analyze social media data using analytics tools to optimize campaigns effectively.
  • Familiarity with public relations principles and relationship management strategies within digital spaces.
  • Passionate about digital marketing trends including social listening, branding, e-commerce integration, and social media content marketing strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred; equivalent experience also considered.
