About
The Role
The Philanthropy Officer (Planned Giving) is responsible for growing legacy giving at Ecojustice, inspiring supporters to leave a gift in their will and strengthening relationships with those who have already made this commitment. Reporting to the Associate Director of Philanthropy, the Officer manages a portfolio of planned giving donors and prospects, using strategic outreach, tailored stewardship plans, and data‑informed insights to deepen engagement and increase revenue.
Working collaboratively across Philanthropy and Communications, they design and implement marketing and solicitation strategies, respond to donor inquiries with technical expertise, and develop proposals using a range of planned giving vehicles.
As a key member of the Philanthropy team, the Officer enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of estate administration through strong record‑keeping, process improvements, and collaboration with professional advisors and legal counsel on complex files. The role also contributes to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and annual planning while embedding justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation into fundraising practices. Through relationship management, strategic planning, and creative problem‑solving, the Officer advances long‑term, sustainable support for Ecojustice’s mission to protect the environment.
