Make a meaningful impact in your community as a Philanthropy Officer at United Way of Calgary and Area. This role focuses on building relationships with mid-level and major donors to enhance fundraising efforts.
In this key position reporting to the Manager – Major Gifts, you will engage with donors and volunteers while supporting various fundraising activities. Your expertise in individual gift fundraising and donor relationship management will help drive our mission forward. Evening and weekend work may be necessary for donor events and other prospecting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support prospecting for mid-level and major gifts
- Build relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff
- Track communications using a CRM tool
- Collaborate with the Individual Giving and Corporate Accounts teams
- Achieve fundraising metrics for your portfolio
Requirements
- Proven experience in individual gift fundraising
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and donor needs
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to understand tax laws on charitable giving
- Post-secondary education preferred
