The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders is seeking a full-time, highly skilled PET/CT Technologist with diagnostic CT experience to join our dynamic imaging team.. Position Overview
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Day shift, with flexibility required to meet operational needs
Location: Coverage for Denton & McKinney locations
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Image Acquisition: Perform high-quality PET/CT and diagnostic CT procedures according to established protocols.
Radiopharmaceutical Handling: Safely receive, prepare, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast media.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and perform daily quality control checks on PET/CT and CT scanners.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, radiation safety logs, and dose tracking in the RIS/PACS systems.
Safety Protocols: Strictly adhere to ALARA principles, radiation safety regulations, and infection control policies.
Patient Care Excellence
Patient Preparation: Educate patients and families about the procedure, screen for contraindications, and address anxiety with empathy.
Comfort & Support: Ensure patient comfort during long scan times and safely position patients with mobility limitations.
Vascular Access: Proficiently establish intravenous access for contrast and radiopharmaceutical administration.
Monitoring: Closely monitor patients for any adverse reactions to contrast media or changes in clinical status.
Requirements & Certifications
NMTCB Certification: Certified in Nuclear Medicine Technology, with a preferred PET Specialty Certification.
ARRT Certification: Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine RT(N) and/or Computed Tomography RT(CT).
Diagnostic CT Competency: Hands-on experience independently performing diagnostic CT scans.
State Licensure: Active Texas medical imaging license as required by law.
BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification.
