Ming’s Place is a homestyle dog daycare/boarding place for dogs and cats. We provide loving care and fun activities to give dogs exercise and socialization.
We are also a non-profit rescue, “Capital Animal Rescue and Environmental Foundation” which helps those dogs find a home and provides for their needs.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Pet Care Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality pet care, and manage a team of pet care professionals. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a love for animals, and experience in hospitality, pet care, or customer service management.
***If you have previous managerial experience but lack pet care experience, we offer comprehensive pet care training, provided you consider yourself a strong and capable leader.
Full time: Minimum of 8 hours a day, at least 5 days per week, including weekends and holidays as needed. (8 am to 7 pm, there is a lunch break from 12 pm to 2 pm)
Manager’s Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including pet check-ins, accommodations, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to pet owners, addressing inquiries, reservations, and concerns.
Team Leadership: Train and supervise pet care staff to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
Pet Care Oversight: Ensure all pets receive proper care, attention, feeding, exercise, and medical needs as required.
Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the hotel and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Must have a current, valid license and must drive safely.
MUST “LOVE” and understand dogs and cats
Must have a cell phone with texting services and daily access to the internet
Must be able to work in most weather conditions
Be able to run, walk and move frequently and quickly throughout the day.
Be flexible with schedule and available for at least 2 major holidays (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day and Independence Day)
Candidates should also demonstrate:
Good judgment in weighing the best use of resources and dealing with sensitive information
Self-motivation with great time management skills
Excellent customer service, communication, and planning skills
Extreme flexibility with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to organize, set priorities, and follow through
Daily tasks include but are not limited to:
Playing/caring for/loving dogs in groups of 10+ indoors and outdoors
Maintaining a safe environment for dogs in our care
Intensive cleaning and environment maintenance
Preparing and feeding meals and administering medications
Occasional manual labor
Work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as stays vary based on client needs
Feed pets and take pictures of them
Check the pets have ample water supply and refill as necessary
Environment clean-up
Has a driver’s license to pick up or drop off dogs
Make sure the pet’s safety
Be reliable and punctual (10 min early for every shift)
Be well organized, multitask, and pay close attention to detail
