We are seeking aPeer Programs Coordinatorto work with the organization’s Peer Programs, focusing on peer programming, community outreach, presentations supporting NAMI Oklahoma’s peer mental health initiatives, and fielding mental health resources to peers and their loved ones across the state.

About the Role

Make and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders such as family members, peers, mental health providers, NAMI Affiliates, schools, county human services, clinics, hospitals, peer-run respites, drop-in centers, and other establish community partnerships serving peers and their families.

Support Volunteer Recruitment and connect individuals living with mental illness with NAMI Oklahoma and NAMI Signature programs and support groups offered.

Become trained as and facilitate NAMI Oklahoma’s NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group.

Maintain relationships with state peer volunteers and offer technical assistance as needed.

Participate in program and community meetings and collaborations to maximize voice, choice, and involvement for the individual with mental illness and their family members throughout the behavioral health service delivery process.

As applicable, provide peer perspective for crisis intervention training.

Collaborate with all NAMI Oklahoma staff and affiliates as needed with thepurposeof advancing the goals of the Peer Program.

Collect and report data as related to programs.

Answer calls and provide support on Helpline.

Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma plus 3-5 years works related experienceORAssociate’s degree plus 2 years of work related experienceORBachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, non-profit philanthropy, or similar field.

Strongleadership, organizational, and time management skills.

Experience providing group training or presentations.

Willingness to travel, primarily within Oklahoma.

Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Commitment to NAMI’s mission and values and ability to integrate your commitment into your work.

Physical requirements:

Prolonged periods of working on a computer, ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
