POSITION SUMMARY:
The South East Recovery Learning Community (SERLC) is seeking a Peer Community Facilitator to engage with and facilitate groups in various underrepresented neighborhoods throughout the southeast area. This part-time position involves five hours per week, including community outreach and a weekly peer support group. Candidates with bilingual abilities, community connections, and roots in the following communities are encouraged to apply:

Position: Peer Community Facilitator
Department: Psychiatry
Schedule: Part Time
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Answer directly to the SERLC Program Director
Collaborate with the SERLC Team, including the Program Director and four Area Program Directors, for strategic outreach planning
Document connections by tracking and reporting outreach statistics for DMH
Maintain an email list for community notifications, with permission from individuals
Attend quarterly in-person events in the southeast as scheduled by the Program Director
Must adhere to BMC’s RESPECT behavioral standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: N/A
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
REQUIRED:
Certified Peer Specialists preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Lived experience of mental health and/or substance misuse challenges preferred
Experience in group facilitation desired
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Computer skills for documentation and outreach
Knowledge of social media platforms
Connections with underrepresented communities
Ability to perform outreach to new communities
Bilingual abilities preferred
Experience facilitating groups; training provided
Empathy and ability to connect with diverse groups
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
