The Fogarty Center seeks a caring and compassionate Spanish Bilingual (not required) Payroll Specialist-Finance Assistant to handle a high clientele and staff professionally. This team member will assist the team in bringing innovative and exciting self-directed services to a large RI DD/IDD population. The Fogarty Center is a private, non-profit agency that provides various services and support to children and adults with intellectual, developmental, and/or other disabilities.
The Fogarty Center is one of the original provider agencies in Rhode Island. It provides residential opportunities, self-directed support, day services, and children’s services. We continue to refine and enhance our services and are committed to developing innovative and individualized opportunities.
JOB PURPOSE:
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Review, enter, and verify employee timesheets & electronic time entry utilizing our payroll software.
· Reconcile weekly payroll in the software systems
· Maintain and update all employer and employee files
· Complete incoming requests for unemployment, TDI, and audit request
· Respond to employee/employers’ questions regarding payroll issues, concerns, and problem-solving.
· Provide backup support to team members
· Provide assistance and support with department contacts concerning employee/employers
· Administrative duties including, but not limited to, scanning and filing payroll records, updating inactive information
· Answering multiple phone lines
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Friendly, approachable attitude and willingness to assist others in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of general administrative procedures and standard office equipment
· Experience with multi-line phone system
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Understand the ability to perform data entry in various software products.
· The ability to work in a very fast-paced office. Don’t get us wrong, we like to have fun during the day, but our clients come first.
