Position

Qualifications:

Spiritual and Personal:

Deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ

Strong alignment with the church’s doctrine, vision, and values

High personal integrity, humility, and teachability

Passion for discipling young people and equipping families

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (often in Bible, Theology, Ministry, or Christian Education)

Many churches prefer or require a Seminary degree (M.Div., MA in Ministry, etc.), especially for larger roles

Continued theological training or certifications are a plus

Experience:

3–5+ years leading in children’s, youth, or family ministry

Proven ability to build and lead teams (volunteers and staff)

Experience creating and growing ministries across multiple age groups

Comfortable communicating to both young people and adults (teaching, preaching, leading)

Familiarity with Next Gen ministry strategies (family ministry models, intergenerational worship, etc.)
