Part Time Music Teacher (Ages 1-4) Jobs in San Diego, CA at My Good Brain
My Good Brain is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth mental wellness through art and play. We’re looking for a warm, energetic Music Teacher to lead our Little Sound Minds class, a parent-and-me music, movement, and social-emotional learning program for children ages 1 to 4.
This is a small but mighty role: two 45-minute classes each Thursday morning (10:00am and 11:00am), designed to bring rhythm, connection, and joy into little ones’ weeks while supporting their emotional development. Caregivers stay in the room and participate alongside their child.
What you’ll do:
- Lead two 45-minute parent-and-me music and movement classes weekly for toddlers and their caregivers
- Use singing, instruments, movement, and simple social-emotional themes (turn-taking, feelings, calming songs) to engage young children
- Build a warm, predictable class structure that toddlers and caregivers can look forward to
- Contribute to curriculum and session planning depending on experience (MGB retains ownership of curriculum developed for the role)
- Track attendance and class notes in our scheduling platform (Sawyer)
What we’re looking for:
- Experience teaching music, movement, or early childhood classes (Music Together, Kindermusik, or similar background is a plus, but not required)
- Comfort leading a room of toddlers and their parents/caregivers together
- Reliable, punctual, and warm in-person presence
- Ability to pass a background check (LiveScan), TB clearance, and complete mandated reporter training
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- Own instrument(s) for personal use during class (MGB supplies instruments for attendees)
