Classification: Part-time
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Children’s Ministry, this position’s primary responsibility is to minister to parents and children, while contributing to the organization SHINE curriculum and facilities.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Build meaningful relationships with parents, especially those connected to SHINE, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Support Sunday services by warmly greeting families and being available to assist volunteers.
Assist with planning and executing children’s ministry programs, providing facilities support (i.e., organization, ordering supplies).
Actively participate in children’s ministry and FPCO staff meetings, providing input on the strategic direction of SHINE and related initiatives.
Attend FPCO Sunday worship services regularly and demonstrate a commitment to personal spiritual growth.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment, supporting the overall vision of FPCO.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Gifts/Qualifications
Experience in children’s ministry (2+ years).
Evidence of calling to minister to families and children.
Passion for discipleship of parents.
Able to support the vision, values and mission of FPCO.
Ability to work well with staff, volunteers and congregation members.
Strong relational and interpersonal skills.
Team player and willingness to assist co-workers and other departments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a deep, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, a demonstrated spiritual maturity and a commitment to a faithful Christian lifestyle.
