Role Overview
Indigenize is seeking a skilled Content Creator to lead our TikTok and social media presence. This role is ideal for a college student or early-career creative with strong experience in content creation, video editing, and digital storytelling. The ideal candidate understands how to craft engaging, visually compelling content that resonates with Indigenous and BIPOC audiences.
This is a remote position, with hybrid opportunities in Madison, Chicago, or Champaign-Urbana for applicants in those areas.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage content for TikTok, Instagram, and other social platforms
Edit and produce short-form videos, motion graphics, and engaging visuals
Work within Indigenize’s brand voice while bringing fresh creative perspectives
Research and implement trending topics, storytelling formats, and engagement strategies
Collaborate with the Indigenize team to align content with broader initiatives
Qualifications
Experience in content creation, particularly for TikTok and Instagram Reels
Strong video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar software)
Proficiency in Canva (Photoshop or Illustrator is a heavy plus, but not required)
Understanding of Indigenous storytelling, aesthetics, and cultural representation
Willing to learn and depict methods of cultural making across the world
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Compensation
Stipend/job position available for project-based content creation
