Location: Columbia, MO
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
Schedule Options: Wednesday – Saturday (Evening Shift, 11:00 PM – 09:00 AM)
Job Summary
Youth Advisors play a crucial role in cultivating a secure treatment environment and promoting positive youth development. They establish trustful connections with young individuals, offering guidance, imparting life skills, and safeguarding their welfare. These professionals provide essential support to aid youth in transitioning to adulthood, fostering independence within a group home environment.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in human services field
Certification:
Must have a valid Class E Driver’s license – this is required for this position
Valid auto insurance
Qualifications:
Strong customer service focus
Excellent time management
Oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, and email applications
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
Preferred: Experience working with children and families in a trauma-informed environment
Essential Functions:
Serve as a mentor, coach, and positive role model for participating youth
Monitor and arrange activities for youth, ensuring their well-being
Collaborate with social services staff to support youth development
Supervise recreational activities and assist with medication management
Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders
Teach daily living skills and accompany clients to appointments
Attend meetings and contribute to treatment planning
Document interactions and observations
Perform other assigned duties as needed
