Duration:To be discussed, withflexibilityin hours per week.
Rate of Pay:$16/hour
Total Wages:$4480 (inclusiveof Mandatory Employment Related Costs such as taxes, EI, CPP)
The chosen candidate will work alongside the Eastern Edge (EE) Interim Director and two Programming Coordinators to gainhands-on experiencewith the planning and implementation of HOLD FAST:
Contemporary Arts Festival (September 30th – October 3rd), along with gaining insight into the operations and programming of an artist-run centre. An emphasis of this position will be focused on community outreach in which the Outreach Coordinator, with support from the EE team, will develop new and enhance existing outreach initiatives. They will work towards identifying and minimizing barriers to EE’s platforms and prioritize outreach to Queer and BIPOC communities, caretakers of young children, students, and other organizations which have similar values and goals as EE.
This is an opportunity forcollaborationand mentorship, with the intent of teaching valuable skills to develop a sense of confidence and ownership of EE as an art-run, community-oriented space.
The Outreach Coordinator should be flexible with working hours (occasional evening and weekends) and be able to commit to longer days during events.
Qualifications:
Willingness to work within anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and actively engage in ongoing learning about these frameworks.
Demonstrated working knowledge,appreciationof, and participation in the arts and communications.
Passion, vision, and a desire tomake a differencein their community.
Excellentcommunicationand organizational skills withattention to detail.
Strong computer skills, particularly in information management (Google Drive, Sheets/Excel, Docs, etc).
Willingness to learn new skills.
Must be able to take responsibility for tasks and see those tasks through to completion.
Must be able to meet deadlines and delegate tasks when required.
Must be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Design skills are an asset.
Please note this position will be part-funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program. For an individual to qualify for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, they must meet the following criteria:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
