We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing multidisciplinary team. What You’ll Do
As a PMHNP, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders across the lifespan.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric follow-up
- Deliver care within your licensed scope of practice under the collaboration of the Medical Director and Clinic Leadership Team
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and case consultation
- Support clients through recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care
- Monitor clinical outcomes while ensuring compliance with agency policies, CCBHC standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
- Contribute to clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and program development
- Foster a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for clients and colleagues
- Uphold the mission, values, and ethical standards of The Family Counseling Center
Qualifications-Required
- Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
- ANCC Board Certification as a PMHNP
- Current DEA registration with prescriptive authority in New York State
- 3+ years of psychiatric practice experience, preferably in outpatient behavioral health
- Experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
Preferred
- Credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid
- Experience working within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) or integrated behavioral healthcare setting

- Able to successfully complete required background screenings, criminal history verification, Medicaid Exclusion Screening, and OCFS requirements

Flexible Schedule
- Full-time, 40-hour work week
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Hybrid scheduling opportunities available

The Family Counseling Center is an NHSC/HRSA-approved site, making eligible providers qualified to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
