Opportunity Summary:

Join our growing team! Origami is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant, 40 hours per week. You will have the opportunity to implement tailored occupational therapy care plans, precisely aligned with assessments and physician prescriptions. This position is a dynamic role that will provide treatment at our Lansing-based campuses, including Origami Main in Mason, Origami Greenlawn in South Lansing, and Origami West in West Lansing. The individual in this role must be flexible and adaptable, as the work location will vary based on organizational needs.

Essential Duties:

Model appropriate behavior conducive to a positive working and therapeutic environment.
Provide care to clients under the direction of the occupational therapist by implementing the plan of care, obtaining data related to the treatment provided, and collaborating with the occupational therapist to modify care as needed.
Document daily notes and service billings in a timely fashion and in accordance with procedure to provide complete documentation for client charts.
Proactively initiate and follow-through with tasks utilizing appropriate problem-solving techniques to facilitate communication flow and prompt resolutions.
Maintain professional excellence through attending networking opportunities, establishing collegial relationships, sharing resources and skills, and seeking out opportunities to speak, publish, and contribute to research.
Contribute to the design and maintenance of effective and timely systems of documentation, including the collection and analysis of outcome data and auditing systems.
Maintain caseload levels at a level deemed reasonable by the OT supervisor.
Provide interns, volunteers, and job shadows meaningful educational experiences.
Observe all rules of confidentiality as they pertain to program participants internally, and in working with outside individuals and/or agencies.

As Needed:

Attend staff meetings, orientation, in-service trainings, clinical reviews, and care conferences.
Provide caseload coverage for OT services.
Participate in program development, budget planning, and small therapy supply inventory.
Other duties as assigned by the OT Supervisor.

Requirements:

Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure in the state of Michigan.
Certification as a Brain Injury Specialist (provided by Origami)
CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami)

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to palpate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop kneel or crawl. Accommodated alternatives are acceptable if they accomplish the necessary essential tasks. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to assist in transfers, gait, and mobility training.
