Reports To: Project Manager
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-time
THE ORGANIZATION
Founded in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, United Latinos is a community organizing network dedicated to expanding civic engagement and building power for Latinos and other marginalized communities. We focus on equity issues, building solutions that benefit historically underserved communities, and creating coalitions with groups committed to an inclusive and thriving Sacramento area. Our mission is to empower community leaders through civic engagement and advocacy to improve the quality of life in the Sacramento area, with a vision of full Latino participation in education, civic, and electoral processes.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Project Associate provides critical support in both program implementation and grant administration, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to funding requirements. This role involves maintaining detailed records, preparing reports, and assisting in securing and managing grants to sustain organizational programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the coordination and delivery of program activities, ensuring they meet established goals and deadlines.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing program data to track progress toward objectives and outcomes.
- Assist with the preparation of grant applications, including writing proposals, creating budgets, and assembling supporting documents.
- Assist with maintaining a centralized system for tracking grant compliance, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Assist with compiling and submitting progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation required by funders.
- Assist with researching new funding opportunities and aligning grant proposals with organizational priorities.
- Assist with collaborating with program staff to ensure activities align with grant deliverables and budgets.
- Assist with responding to funder inquiries and building positive relationships with grantmaking organizations.
- Assist with providing administrative support, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and preparing communications related to grants and programs.
- Assist with outreach to the community, including tabling at events and participating in town halls.
- Attend all required meetings, such as board, emergency, community, and staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, or
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Adobe products.
- Proficiency in managing databases and tracking systems for grants and program data.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong writing and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual and culturally competent.
