Position Overview:
LEAP is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Development Director to lead fundraising efforts and expand our donor base. The Development Director will report to and work closely with the Executive Director and will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new funding opportunities, while also maintaining strong relationships with current donors. The ideal candidate will have
a deep understanding of nonprofit fundraising strategies,
experience in donor stewardship,
knowledge of the local and national funding landscape,
and a passion for supporting the successful reintegration of justice-involved women.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute LEAP’s fundraising strategy, including annual campaigns, grants, events, corporate partnerships, and major gifts.
Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
Research and identify new funding opportunities to sustain and grow LEAP’s programs and services.
Manage and leverage LEAP’s CRM platform to track donor relationships, streamline communications, and enhance data-driven fundraising strategies.
Oversee the preparation of grant proposals, reports, and other funding requests.
Work closely with the executive team to ensure alignment of fundraising efforts with LEAP’s mission and strategic goals.
Oversee donor stewardship and recognition efforts to ensure donor satisfaction and retention.
Represent LEAP at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to expand our visibility and engage with potential supporters.
Additional Requirements:
This is a hybrid position requiring a mix of remote and in-person work.
Flexibility to attend and manage evening and weekend events as needed.
Qualifications:
5 + years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a track record of securing and managing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
Ability to effectively use and manage a CRM system for donor relationship management, data analysis, and fundraising campaigns.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and stakeholders.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with a small team in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for LEAP’s mission and work with justice-involved women.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
