Ava Gardner Museum, dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Hollywood icon Ava Gardner, is seeking an organized, energetic, and community-focused Museum Manager to oversee daily operations and support the Museum’s mission.

The Museum Manager works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure smooth administrative operations, coordinate museum programs and events, support fundraising initiatives, manage volunteer/docent scheduling, maintain communications, and assist with marketing and public outreach efforts. This role also helps coordinate special events, membership programs, gift shop operations, and visitor engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage day-to-day museum operations and administrative functions

● Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors, members, and community partners

● Assist with marketing, social media, newsletters, and public relations efforts

● Support fundraising activities, grants, membership programs, and special events

● Maintain records, correspondence, and organizational documentation

● Collaborate with the Board of Directors on strategic initiatives and museum projects

● Coordinate staff and volunteer schedules

Qualifications

● Minimum of two years of administrative, nonprofit, museum, or related experience

● Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills

● Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and board members

● Experience with public outreach, event coordination, or social media is preferred

● Passion for history, cultural heritage, museums, or the arts

This role will begin as a part time, 30 hour a week position at $18-$20 an hour, commensurate with experience. After three months in-training, the Museum Manager will work solo for another three month probationary period until the start of the 2027 calendar year. At which point the Museum Manager will be up for promotion to full time and title change to Executive Director.
