Role Description The Mobile Vaccine Coordinator (Animal Rescue) is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbia, SC, responsible for coordinating and delivering mobile vaccination services for companion animals in the community. This role oversees daily operations of mobile vaccine clinics, including scheduling events, preparing medical supplies, and ensuring proper documentation for each animal served. The coordinator works closely with veterinary staff to support safe and efficient vaccine administration, educates pet guardians on preventive care, and promotes spay/neuter and adoption programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting and registering clients, maintaining accurate medical records, monitoring animal flow and safety during clinics, and providing clear, compassionate communication to community members. The Mobile Vaccine Coordinator also assists with outreach efforts, supports quality standards and compliance with organizational protocols, and collaborates with the broader Pawmetto Lifeline team to advance the no-kill mission.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic principles of animal medicine relevant to vaccinations and preventive care.
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures, educate clients on pet health, and collaborate effectively with veterinary and rescue staff.
- Customer service skills to provide respectful, empathetic support to diverse community members in high-volume clinic settings.
- Experience in patient care or animal handling, including safe restraint, observation of animal behavior, and comfort with cats and dogs of varying temperaments.
- Ability to work on-site in Columbia, SC, including some evenings or weekends as needed for mobile clinics.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, maintain accurate records, and oversee clinic logistics and inventory.
- Commitment to animal welfare and alignment with no-kill values; prior experience in animal rescue, shelter, or veterinary environments is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in veterinary assistance, animal care, or related fields is a plus.
- Comfort working in mobile, outdoor, and fast-paced environments, with the ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as necessary
